Linda Lee (Varner) Diesing, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, June 4, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11, at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Jarrett Samuels. Graveside committal services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Pence Cemetery, Baldwin.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Virgil Diesing of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Colleen (Chris) Law, and their children, Kristen, Madison and Chase, of Cedar Rapids; son, Duston (Jessie) Diesing of Cedar Rapids; brother, Tom (Vicki) Varner of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary; and brothers, Bob, Glen and Maynard.
Linda was born June 26, 1947, in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of Ralph and Bertha (Morehead) Varner. On Feb. 5, 1966, she married Virgil Diesing at Andrew Lutheran Church in Andrew. Linda enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and out-of-town family.
A memorial fund has been established in Linda's memory.
