Linda Denise Smith, age 78, passed away at the Oak Park Estates in Cedar Falls, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will be held at the Cedar
Memorial Chapel of Memories on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 9 AM to service time at 11 AM with Pastor Roger Grandia officiating. Interment to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of Tranquility.
Linda was born on January 21, 1947, in Colorado Springs, CO. She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Gladys (Keeler) Sturbaum. On August 15, 1965, Linda married the love of her life, Howard Smith in Cedar Rapids, IA. Linda was a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital before she retired. She enjoyed quilting and knitting. She was an avid volunteer at Westminster Presbyterian Church where she served for many years
Those left to cherish Linda’s memory are her children, Jeffrey Smith, of La Porte City, IA, Jason (Noelia) Smith of Edinburg, TX, and Christopher (Kelly) Smith, of Dubuque, IA; her grandchildren, Corey, Dillon, Ashley, Chloe, and Olivia; her great-grandchildren, Emma, Scarlett, and Ayden. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her parents, her daughter-in-law, Melissa Smith, and a niece Julie Sturbaum.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
