Linda L. Cole, 66, of Iowa City, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at her home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
Linda was born Nov. 18, 1951, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie and Ethel (Hogan) Cole Sr. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Nauvoo, Ill. Linda was a secretary for Mercy Hospital's food service department for over 40 years, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed making homemade gifts for her friends and family over the years, especially ceramic Christmas decorations. Linda loved arts and crafts; ceramics were her specialty.
Linda is survived by her seven siblings, Carolyn Cole of Iowa City, Karen McMath (Joe) of West Branch, Laura Cole of Solon, Leslie Cole Jr. of Solon, Lyle Cole of Iowa City, Lu Ann Cole of New Jersey and Leland Cole of Iowa City; eight nieces and nephews, Mindy McMath, Jay (Stacy) McMath, John (Caroline) Cole, Ben Cole, Keith Cole, Kevin (Kristi) Cole, Chris Cole and Cathy Cole; and many extended family.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Natalie Cole.
