Linda Marie Coffin, 61,
of Burlington, Iowa, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, at
the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.
Linda was born May 6, 1959, in Omaha, Neb., the second of six children to Paul and Phyllis Fisher. In 1967, the family moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where Linda attended St. Pius X Elementary. After graduating from Regis High School in 1977, Linda attended and graduated from Ottumwa School of Medical Technology and later Mount Mercy College. She worked at Burlington Medical Center from 1981-1994 and Burlington Area Family Practice Center from 1994-2002.
On July 14, 1990, Linda married MacArthur "Mac" Coffin II of Burlington. They enjoyed over 30 wonderful years together attending countless events and travel excursions to many tropical locations. She loved weekly gatherings with her circle of friends in Burlington. Her many hobbies included cross stitch, scrapbooking, baking, cooking, gardening and word puzzles. Linda never forgot or overlooked a birthday or any other special occasions for those she loved. Everyone will remember her joy, laughter and positive outlook. She was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her husband, MacArthur "Mac" Coffin II of Burlington; mother, Phyllis Fisher of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Deborah (Jeff) Jump of Cedar Rapids and Susan (Arnaldo) Fisher of Tempe, Ariz.; three brothers, Thomas (Carolyn) Fisher of Minneapolis, Minn., Dan Fisher of Tempe, Ariz., and John Fisher of Cedar Rapids; stepson, Ryan (Tamara) Coffin of Middletown; four stepgrandchildren, Bailey Rumpa and Halle, Brenton and Taylor Coffin of Middletown; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Fisher; and stepson, Jason Coffin.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service for Linda will be held at a later date. Prugh Funeral Service of Burlington is in care of the arrangements.
