Linda Clark
Independence, Ore.
Linda Lou Clark (Moore), 78, of Independence, Ore., passed away suddenly after a short illness on April 21, 2023, in Salem Hospital, surrounded by people that loved her.
Linda was born in Numa, Iowa, to Carl and Lelia Fay Moore (Flitcroft) on Dec. 10, 1944.
She married Duane Eveland in Idaho in 1960 (later divorcing after two children). Then she married Roger Clark in Cedar Rapids, in 1967 (later divorcing after two children).
She worked as a small business owner running her own daycare for 10 years, and later owning and running The Horseless Carriage bar in Marion, before retiring and moving West.
She was a faithful member of Living Water Methodist church in Marion, then later, Salem First Free Methodist church in Salem, Ore.
Linda enjoyed spending her days knitting, doing word search puzzles, shopping, traveling, reading and never missing an episode of General Hospital.
One of Linda’s last adventures included RV road-tripping through the mountains to Las Vegas. While there she got to meet her first and only great-grandson, Miles Mayer; gamble at a Las Vegas casino, visit the Hoover Dam and see part of the country she never had!
Remaining to cherish Linda’s memory are children, Julie Mitchell (John, dec.), Angie Farmer (Ross) and Nicole Clark (Rick); grandchildren, Amy Burton (Matt), Ryan Mayer (Jen), Cassie Farmer, Andrea Mayer, Vivian Mitchell and Kailyn Jacobs; great-grandchild, Miles Mayer; brother, Carl Moore (Theresa); sister, Pat Wright (Ernie); sister-in-law, Sheila Mathews; many beloved nieces and nephews; also very close to her, Erik Hanson and Brittany Eveland.
Linda was preceded in death by ex-husband, Roger Clark; son, Randy Eveland; grandchild, Lincoln Jacobs; parents, Carl and Fay Moore; brother, Dean Moore, Rodney Clark (BIL); sister, Barbara Chavez (Moore); nieces and nephews, Terry Wright, Diane Wright, Pamela Payne and Stacy Stewart; also, longtime friend, Larry Bates.
