Limkemann, Eunice A.
Eunice A. Limkemann, 91, of Oelwein, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at the Oelwein Healthcare Center. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf. The Rev. Marshall Hahn will officiate. Visitation: noon until service time at the church on Friday. Interment: United Brethren Cemetery, rural St. Olaf.
She was born Oct. 9, 1920, at St. Olaf, Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Mabel (Nesteby) Olson. She attended school through the 8th grade in Iowa. She was united in marriage to John Limkemann on Nov. 23, 1938, at St. Olaf. Eunice was a homemaker who loved spending time with family and always enjoyed having a good time.
She enjoyed playing cards and family functions. After raising their children and John's retirement, they moved to Marquette, Iowa, where they enjoyed commercial and pleasure fishing for several years. She has resided in Oelwein since November 2005.
Eunice is survived by her six children, Joyce (David) Maresh of Swisher, Eugene (Janet) Limkemann of Leesburg, Fla., Dennis (Pat) Limkemann of Simi Valley, Calif., Diana (Lee) Hamer of Garnavillo, Randy (Jolynn) Limkemann of East Lyme, Conn., and Richard (Paula) Limkemann of Fairfax; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lorimer (Judith) Olson of Colesburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John on May 13, 2006; two sisters, Adella Olson and Gladys Mueller; and two brothers, Joel Olson and Melvin Olson.
Eunice's family would like to thank the Oelwein Healthcare Center staff for their loving kindness, gracious care and family support. Caring for our mother with such dignity will never be forgotten.
