LILY NULL
Cedar Rapids
Lily Ranay Null, 14, of Cedar Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at her home. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 16, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 until 6 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Lily was born April 22, 2000, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Robert and Dawn (Betzer) Null. Lily was in the sixth grade at Taft Middle School. She enjoyed music, her friends, floor time, having her hair played with (but don't pull the knots out that she worked so hard to put in it), country music, sports (the announcers' voices, thanks to Sandy from the NICU during her six weeks there), being outdoors – the breeze and sun in her face (as long as she didn't get too hot), hockey games (only she could sleep through the blowhorns), animals, her times with her Arc friends and caregivers, her times spent at Camp Courageous and most of all, her many family members, but also her extended family made up of her friends through school at Truman and Taft, and those she made at Arc and Camp Courageous.
Of course, we must not forget her sassy funny self – being a stinker and then some playing "possum" to get out of doing things to only "wake up" when we gave up. She was greatly loved by her aunties, Tina Hartson and Sarah Franck Woods, who have been with us the entire journey, and have become members of our family for their loving care of Lily.
Lily is survived by her parents, Rob and Dawn; her brother, Zachary Betzer (Emmery) of Cedar Rapids; her nephew, Cayden Betzer; paternal grandparents, Don and Sandy McArtor of Cedar Rapids and Ron Null of Tulsa, Okla.; maternal grandparents, Russell and Leta Betzer of Anamosa; and her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Floyd (Mardelle) Sanborn, Gladys (Al) Bradley, G.F. "Speed" Tuetken (Ardith Schoon), Minnie (Tom) Fousek and Willis (Lucilla) Betzer.
Memorials may be directed to either Arc of East/Central Iowa or Camp Courageous in her name.
Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.broshchapel.com.
