Lillis, Anna 'Catharine'
Anna “Catharine” Lillis, 95, of Williamsburg, formerly of Parnell, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at English Valley Care Center, North English, following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Williamsburg, with Father Joseph Roost officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Hall, Williamsburg, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be contributed to Commitment (El Salvador Orphanage) or St. Joseph's Cemetery Fund, Parnell.
She is survived by three sons, Mike (Barb) of Grand Junction, Colo., Bob (Pat) of Williamsburg and Ed (Jean) of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Ann Lillis of Williamsburg and Maggie Lillis of Iowa City; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Schmitt of Neligh, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfrid M. Lillis in 1976; a son, Larry Lillis; a sister, Rita Walter; and two brothers, Leonard and Ed Murrin.
Catharine was a longtime teacher in the Oxford, Parnell and Williamsburg schools.
