LILLIE JAMES
Center Point
Lillie Mae James, 79, of Center Point, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, both in Cedar Rapids. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, William P. James; her children, Craig (Sheri) James of Center Point, Brenda (Kevin) Klein of Cedar Rapids, Rick (Crystal) James of Walker and Nancy (Daniel) Jones of Walker; a sister, Waunita (Jack) Snow of Illinois; five half sisters; six half brothers; grand-children, Brooke, Tyler, Jason, Candice, Jennifer, Stacy, Todd and Dustin; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Zachary; and a half sister.
Lillie was born Nov. 21, 1934, in Central City, Iowa, the daughter of Juanita and George FitzSimmons. She married William P. James on Jan. 14, 1955, in Marion.
Lillie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Center Point, where she was active in United Methodist Women and a board member. She was a book club member, avid Hawkeye fan and had a great sense of humor.
Lillie loved people. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
