Lillie P. Dickens, 88, of Oxford, passed away April 11, 2022, at Mercy Iowa City. Her family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Oxford United Methodist Church. A memorial service will then begin at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the luncheon Friday afternoon (about 3 p.m.) in Campton Cemetery in Lamont, Iowa. The family kindly requests that those attending please wear masks. Instead of flowers and plants, memorials may be directed to Oxford United Methodist Church, Oxford First Responders or the Lupus Foundation. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City is handling arrangements for Lillie.
Born Oct. 3, 1933. in Lamont, Iowa, the daughter of Loren and Mabel (Adams) Berridge, Lillie grew up in Lamont and graduated from high school there. She attended Gates Business College in Waterloo. She married Frank Dickens on July 12, 1953, in Oelwein, Iowa. Lillie worked for Amana Refrigeration for 15 years in the administrative offices, retiring in 1984. After her retirement from Amana, she worked for the Clear Creek Amana School District for several years. She was also a member of Oxford United Methodist Church.
Lillie is survived by her daughters, Denise Ary of Amana and Deanna Dickens (Tom Kinney) of Oxford; grandchildren, Kristopher Ary, Jason Ary and Megan Praljak (Dejan); great-grandchildren, Kiera, Mara, Mila, Luka and Ella; sister, Donna Michener of O'Fallon, Mo.; and brother, Robert Berridge of Cedar Rapids; several nieces and nephews, along with Tom's family, their children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank, in 2007; a son-in-law, Roger Ary; brother-in-law, Tom Michener' and sister-in-law, Janice Berridge.
