LILLIAN "LIL" E. ZIPPERER

Lillian "Lil" E. Zipperer, 89, a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Hallmar Care Center. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Friends may visit with the family from 4
to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church Parish Center and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Lil is survived by her husband, Zip; their children, Dave (Cindy) Zipperer and Sheryl (Chip) Eaton; and a granddaughter, Alyssa Zipperer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Robert Zipperer.
Lillian Evaline was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Marion, the daughter of William and Lucille Popelar Kudrna. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1945. On March 2, 1946, she married Wilfred "Zip" Zipperer at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
Lil enjoyed spending time taking care of her family and being a homemaker.
Lil loved to cook and make award-winning meals and in later years, doing jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the organ and accordion. Lil loved spending time with her family and traveling to Arizona with Zip during the winter months.
