Lillian Marie Crisman, 97, died peacefully Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton from complications of a stroke. Funeral services will be at noon Monday, Oct. 17, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton, with the Rev. David Gates officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Lillian was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Morton, Minn., the daughter of Benjamin and Esther Helm Price. Her parents moved to Vinton when she was a child and she attended Harrison No. 2 country school. On Feb. 15, 1945, Lillian was united in marriage with Murray Wesley "Jack" Crisman in Vinton. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2003.
Lillian worked as a nurse's aide for 21 years in Moline, Ill. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and traveling. After Jack retired, they moved to Vinton and she enjoyed helping her sister, Irene, in her farm kitchen.
Lillian is survived by one sister, Ila Mae Burris of Burbank, Ill.; nephew and caregiver, Benny (Carol) Geater of Vinton; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Glen, Virgil and Richard Price; two sisters, Hazel Schminke and Irene Geater; brother-in-law, John Geater; and sister-in-law, Mary Crisman.
Memorials may be directed to Virginia Gay Hospital.
