LILLIAN BETENBENDER

Lillian M. Betenbender, 86, of Coggon, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a short illness. Memorial services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Murdoch Funeral Home &
Cremation Service, Marion, by Pastor Jamie Wolfe. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home in Marion. Inurnment: Coggon Cemetery, Coggon.
Survivors include her son, Gene (Sheryl); granddaughter, Amy; grandson, Chad (Darcey); three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Levi and Brooke; sister-in-law, LaVon Marek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale "Mick"; grandson, Mark; brother, Jerry Marek; and sister, Bessie Valka.
Lillian was born May 5, 1928, in Waubeek, the daughter of John and Lillian Marek. She attended Central City High School. On April 8, 1950, Lillian married Dale "Mick" Betenbender. She and Mick were lifelong farmers in Coggon. More than anything, Lillian loved spending time with her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her family in Lillian's memory.
