Lewis, Kathleen Lou

Funeral services for Kathleen Lou Lewis, 72, of Tipton, who died Jan. 28, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, will be held noon Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Shawver Cemetery, Tipton.

Kathleen “Kathy” Lou McClellan Lewis was born June 25, 1938, the daughter of Kenneth and Alice (Arford) McClellan. She was a 1957 graduate of Tipton High School and attended business school in Davenport. Kathy was united in marriage to Henry “Hank” Jesse Lewis on March 19, 1960, at the United Methodist Church in Tipton. Kathy was employed as the CEO of the Cedar County Workshop.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tipton Rotary, Red Hat Society and W.O.T.M.

Kathy is survived by her sons, Kevin Lewis of Tipton and Robert (Peggy) Lewis of Tipton; grandchildren, Devin, Daniel, Eric, Witney, Jake and Anna; great-grandchildren, Zander and Nicoli; sisters, Martha Introna of North Liberty and Shirley (Doug) Smith of Marion; and a brother, Keith (Marian) McClellan of Detroit, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hank.

Memorials may be made Tipton Public Library, Hospice, Trinity Evangelical Church or toward planting a tree at Shawver Cemetery in memory of Kathy.
