Levy, Margaret
Margaret Levy, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at Pleasantview Home, Kalona, following a sudden illness. The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona. Final services will be at the Dunn Funeral Home, Des Moines, from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18. Mrs. Levy's body will be cremated after the visitation in Des Moines.
Margaret Levy was born June 30, 1919, at Postville, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Mamie (Erwin) Muchow. She graduated from Postville High School. Margaret was united in marriage to Edward R. Levy on Dec. 14, 1939. The couple owned and operated restaurants in Des Moines for a number of years. The Pioneer, Sombero, Skondras and Tel Star were their operations.
Margaret is survived by three children, Cheryl of Riverside, John Levy of Ankeny, and Lewis Levy of Maple Hill, N.C. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established for Pleasantview Home.
