LETHA RAE LOVELACE SUPPLE
Iowa City
Letha Rae Lovelace Supple passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022.
Lea was born Nov. 17, 1937, in Webster City, Iowa. Lea was a longtime Iowa City resident and Realtor. She was the first woman elected as the president of the Iowa City Board of Realtors. She was a trusted professional and a friend and mentor to many.
Lea was an avid collector and creator. Her home was filled with fun and interesting creations while her yard was alive with vast gardens and tiny sculptures. Lea was an avid reader and her loss of sight made books on tape a blessing. Like many of us, she loved her Hawkeyes and had an extensive homecoming badge collection.
After school, Lea moved to Iowa City with husband Jerry Lovelace to live and raise her boys. Lea was a very independent woman and that carried through to her boys who all owned their own businesses.
Later Lea married Jim Supple and had many happy years.
She was preceded in death by her son, Vincent; and husband, Jim.
She is survived by her sons, Matt (Carmela) Lovelace, Paul (Jennifer) Lovelace and Whit (Lia) Lovelace. She has two adored grandsons, Nick and Alex who reside in Chicago.
Services celebrating Lea's life will be held at a later date to be announced. To share a thought, memory or condolence with her family, please visit Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service website at www.gayandciha.com.
