Lester F. “Les” Wieland, 82, of Iowa City, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Crestview Specialty Care in West Branch. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Riverside. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date. Following the funeral Mass, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the St. Mary’s Church.

Lester will be deeply missed by his wife, Jolene Wieland of Iowa City; son, Chuck (Janet) Wieland of Riverside; son, Chet (Mindy) Wieland of Riverside; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Alex) Tucker, Emily Wieland, Mitchell (Madi) Wieland, Nate Wieland and Ty Wieland; great-grandchildren, Henry and Brooks Tucker; brother, Larry (Janice) Wieland of Riverside; brother, Rob “Dennis” (Kelly) Wieland of Sun City West, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Rose Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.
