Leroy C. Sander, 94, of Tipton, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wed-nesday, April 29, Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence, with Janel Wenndt officiating. Burial: Clarence Cemetery. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include a daughter, Leah Jo (Fred) Mulling of Mason City; son-in-law, Roland Zimmerman of Tipton; nine grandchildren, Janel (Kirk) Wenndt, Rodney Zimmerman, Tanya (Ben) Sterner, Carey King, Doug Sander, Tiffany Coats, Charity Stucker, Christopher Sander and Tom Sander; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Everette Sander
of Tipton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Jane; daughters, Angel Lee, Donna and Sharon; and son, Douglas.
Leroy was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Cedar County, Iowa, to William H. and Ella A. Lunow Sander. He married Betty Jane Boots on June 10, 1942. She died Aug. 17, 1998.
Leroy was a faithful Hardee's attendee and loved mowing lawn and spending time with his grandkids.
