LeRoy R. Loveless, 89,
of Marion, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at his home. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Grace Baptist Church located at 1461 East Post Rd., Marion, IA 52302. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Terry (Laura) Loveless of Marion and Doug (Renata) Loveless of Denver, Colo.; stepsons, Steven (Mary) Sykora of Key West, Fla., and Ken (Jennifer) Sykora of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Sonya Frazier; grandchildren, Terry and Becky Loveless, Keyia, Jae and Kayse Loveless; step-grandchildren, Amber Hodge, Jillian, Chelsey and Matthew Sykora; and five great-grandchildren, Zeke, Keagan, Asher, Addy and Blayz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven Loveless; his second wife, Beverly; and six sisters.
LeRoy was born Feb. 6, 1926, to LeRoy and Marjorie (Meyoks) Loveless. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. LeRoy participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded a Bronze Star and was also a Purple Heart recipient. He married Jean Jungjohann, They later divorced. LeRoy then married Beverly Brown on March 15, 1969, in North Liberty. He worked for many years as a machinist in Cedar Rapids. LeRoy especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
