LeRoy E. Karr, 77, of Marion, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Private family services will be held at a later date. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; a son, Ed (Stephanie); and a brother, Wayne (Jan), all of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
LeRoy was born on Aug. 24, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Oral and Georgia Fiala Karr. He married Diane K. Schneider on Nov. 2, 1957, in Iowa City.
LeRoy was an engineering manager at Rockwell Collins for 40 years, retiring in 1995. He also was the owner and operator of Box Kar Hobbies with his wife, Diane, and co-owner of Karrleton Recording with his son, Ed.
LeRoy was a member of the Model Railroad Club. He enjoyed sports cars, gardening and proudly served in the U.S. Army. LeRoy was a wonderful husband, father and brother, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
