Leota N. Cihla, 92, of Mount Vernon, died
Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at Hallmark Care Center. Graveside services will be
at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Vernon Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and one sister-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; two brothers; and one sister.
Leota was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Paralta, the daughter of Robert and Roxy Noah Barrett. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1943. Leota married Joe Cihla on Oct. 5, 1989, in Chippewa Falls, Wis. Joe passed away in 2004.
Leota was a supervisor at Rockwell and retired from there after 39 years of service. She was a lifelong member of the Mount Vernon Auxiliary. Leota enjoyed the time spent with her friends and family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established.
