Leonard "Lonny" L. Willard, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021,
at St. Luke's Hospital. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Private family
inurnment will be in Rogers Grove Cemetery near Ely.
Lonny was born Nov. 30, 1937, in Emmetsburg, the son of George H. and Goldie M. (Pratt) Willard. He was a tow truck owner-operator of Lonny's Wrecker Service for over 48 years, and later worked as bus driver for NTS. Lonny was united in marriage to Sarah Bascom in Reno, Nev., in January of 1990.
Lonny is survived by his children, Steven Sr. and Penny, both of Marion, Timothy of Cedar Rapids and Rhonda of Mississippi; several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Leonard Jr.; son, Arthur; his wife, Sarah; daughter-in-law, Diana; and his siblings, Howard, Russell and Vera Mae.
