Leonard, Leona B.
Leona B. Leonard, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at ManorCare Health Services. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, William; a son, Gary of Cedar Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Hazel Leonard of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Lynette, Sheryl, Jesse and Kirsten; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis; two brothers, Leroy and Lloyd; and a sister, Lucille.
Leona was born Nov. 27, 1926, the daughter of Marion and Lottie (Townsend) Banks, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On Oct. 19, 1945, she was united in marriage to William Leonard in Cedar Rapids. A homemaker, Leona was a member of the TOPS organization.
