Leonard, Dorothy A.
Dorothy A. Leonard, 86, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following a lingering illness. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department.
She is survived by her husband, John “Jack”; sons, David and Joe (Sheree), all of Belle Plaine; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was born in rural Keystone, Iowa, on Oct. 6, 1925, to Michael and Minnie Sindt Bevins. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School. Dorothy and Jack were married Aug. 18, 1944, in Bremerton, Wash.
Dorothy was well-known for her artwork.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Loretta; and brothers, Don and Clifford.
