Leona Elizabeth Mulvaney, 94, of Coggon, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at her home. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at St. John's Catholic Church, Coggon. Burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Coggon. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her three children, Jesse (Rose) of Cedar Rapids, Patti (Ray) Hamilton of Solon and Mark (Marg) of Coggon; one sister, Bernadine Coleman of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren, Molly (Fadi), Matt (Sara), Kelly (Sean), Carrie (Nick), Christy (Joe), John Henry (Michelle), Dylan, Natasha, Keyna, Josh, Daniel, Cassie and Katie; 14 great-grandchildren, John, Maria, Eva, George, Brody, Brooke, Madelyn, Alyssa, Luke, Olivia, Ella, Cleo, Tyler, Isabel, and one arriving in February.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John; her brothers, Leo, Mike, Bob and Bill; and her sisters, Gladys and Kate.
Lee was born Nov. 19, 1923, in Center Point, Iowa, the daughter of Ed and Mary (Barta) Klima. She married John Mulvaney on Aug. 13, 1946, in Dakota City, Neb. She was a very active member of St. John's Catholic Church in Coggon. Lee lived a full life with faith, family and friends. She was always up for having a good time, and her home and kitchen were lovingly open for family and friends.
The family would like to express gratitude to Mercy Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Lee.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Thank you, God, for blessing our family beyond compare. It was an honor and a privilege to be her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
