Leona M. Miller-Hastie, 99, of Anamosa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, entered into eternal rest Oc. 4, 2022. Born June 1, 1923 in Millersburg, Iowa, to George and Alice Lacy-Goodman, she attended North English Schools and earned her teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College.
Leona was married to Max Albert Miller, Sept. 24, 1944, until his death June 29, 1951. To this union was born one daughter, Beverly J. Miller-Armstrong, Mount Vernon, Iowa.
Feb. 14, 1987, was the date of her second marriage to Kenneth L. Hastie who preceded in death, Nov. 15, 2008. Also preceding her in death were her parents; older sister, Velma Irene Carter; and brother, Wesley Edwin Goodman.
Survivors are sister, Madelin Goodman Gott; nieces and nephews; daughter, Beverly (Ron) Armstrong; granddaughters, Karen (Jamie) DeLancey and Julie (Rod) Thompson; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ana and Max.
Following a great life and at Leona’s request, there will be no formal service.
