Leo Ray Bissell, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022. In accordance with Leo’s wishes, no services will be held. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service assisted the family.
Leo was born March 8, 1936, in Greeley, Iowa, the son of Lee and Ada (Sauerbry) Bissell. He graduated from Greeley High School. Leo served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Wanda “Toby” Kellogg on Nov. 29, 1959, in Greeley. Leo worked as a machinist for FMC and Rockwell until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Leo enjoyed fishing and watching TV. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Toby Bissell; children, Shane Bissell, Lance Bissell, Lea (Gary) Cliff, and Barry Bissell; grandchildren, Rylee Cliff, Jillian Cliff, Braxton Bissell, Braeden Bissell, and Shayla Bissell; siblings, Bill (Shirley) Bissell, Donnabelle Elledge, and Pat (Dale) Sparrgroave; and sister-in-law, Joan Bissell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ada Bissell; and siblings, Dale Bissell, Vance Bissell, Bonnie Hamlett, Lois McDowell, and Doris Mallicoat.
