Leo Joseph Jedlicka, 91, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at home with family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, at Northern Bible Church in Bemidji, Minn., with Scott Schoenfelder officiating.
Leo was born Aug 27, 1926, and raised in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Arlo and Emma Jedlicka (Iowa City, Iowa). He worked as a farmer and carpenter in the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, areas. In 2005, he retired to the Bemidji area, where he enjoyed many years of volunteer work. He also was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing the area lakes with family and friends. Leo was a friend to anyone who took the time to talk with him, and enjoyed visiting and sharing fishing stories.
Leo is survived by his wife of 28 years, Faye (Bray); and his five children, David (Becky) of Plainfield, Ill., Daniel (Beverly) of Central City, Iowa, Ronald (Tammy) of Hines, Minn., Patricia (Wayne) Foss of Marion, Iowa, and Thomas (Janice) of Marion. He also is survived by five stepchildren, 26 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his two brothers, Donald (Irene) of Solon, Iowa, and Paul (Phyllis) of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Margie and Leona.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bemidji Community Food Shelf or a charity of your choice. The family entrusted his final care to the Minnesota Cremation Society.
