Lentner, Cornelia G.
Cornelia G. Lentner, 95, of Robins, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hiawatha, by Father Neil Manternach. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a vigil beginning at 3:34 p.m., at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Marvin (Helen) of Blacksburg, Va., Cathy (Ed) Rowley of Middleton, Wis., Bill of Hills, Marge (LaVerne) Carstensen of Robins, Jerry (Barbara) of Marion, and Carol (Fred) Timmerman of Balaton, Minn.; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and Bill's special friend, Fran.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings, Frank Egloff, Loretta Hildebrand, Agnes Eike and Cardella Powell.
Cornelia was born Aug. 10, 1914, in Jasper, Ind., the daughter of Meinrad and Theresa (Kessler) Egloff. She married Emil H. Lentner on Nov. 25, 1935, in Earlville. She and Emil farmed for many years in Linn and Delaware counties. The couple was married 64 years. He died June 8, 2000. Cornelia worked for the Sears & Roebuck Co. for many years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Polka Club of Iowa, Polka Club of America, and the Polka Boosters of Wisconsin. She enjoyed traveling and time spent with family.
Cornelia was a loving mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law.
