Lenth, Marie
Marie Lenth, 101, of Rock Island, Ill., formerly of Postville, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, in her home. Private family services and burial will be held on her birthday, April 30, 2010, in Luana City Cemetery, Luana. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements.
The former Marie Tina Landt was born April 30, 1908, in Clayton County, the daughter of William and Emma (Thies) Landt. She married Louis Lenth in 1926 in Luana. He died in 1985.
She was a life-long member of the Luana Lutheran Church, enjoyed playing cards and fishing, and was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan.
Marie is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Jim Jarmes of Postville, and Deian and John Conner of Rock Island, with whom she lived for the past two years; five grandchildren and their spouses, Kendal and Robyn Jarmes, Steve Jarmes, Gary and Jaci Jarmes, Chad and Antsise Conner, and Kelly Bolinger; eight great-grandchildren, Cody and Tess Jarmes, Jacob Jarmes, Cory, Casey and Cale Jarmes, Christian Conner, and Noah Bolinger; step sisters, Rosalyn Kramber of Postville, and Margaret Sebastian of Dubuque; and a sister-in-law, Idella Landt of Monona.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Delores Hansel; two grandchildren, Julie and Alan Jarmes; and three brothers, Clarence, Lawrence and Helmuth Landt.
