LeNora Marie Wacha, 82, of Brooklyn, formerly of Toledo, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Brooklyn Community Estate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. A private family graveside service will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama.
LeNora was born Oct. 10, 1935, in Bonifay, Fla., the daughter of Roy and Jeannette (Cunningham) Moffett.
She graduated from Toledo High School.
On Sept. 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to George Leo Wacha at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama. LeNora was a secretary for the South Tama High School guidance counselor for 19 years. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross for many years. LeNora enjoyed dancing, traveling with Chuck and quilting. She also loved bird watching. LeNora especially enjoyed the time she spent with Chuck.
Survivors include her longtime companion of 20 years, Chuck Skarda, of Brooklyn and formerly of Toledo; four children, Judy Wacha of Brooklyn, Mark Wacha of Toledo, Sandra (Jim) Clayton of Brooklyn and Randy (Sarah) Wacha of Lorimor; her grandchildren, Terry (Molly) Clayton of Brooklyn, Michelle Clayton (Jeff Michels) of Cedar Rapids, Jim (Holly) Clayton Jr. of Newton and Tyler Wacha of Winterset; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Irene Dvorak of Traer; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, George, on Sept. 29, 1995; and one brother, Jim Moffett, in 1976.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.
