Lela Pauline Severin, 89, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with the Rev. B. Andrew Wright officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Lela was born Sept. 23, 1928, in Victor, Iowa, the daughter of Virgil and Gertrude (Robertson) Fish. She graduated from Manual Art High School in Los Angeles, Calif., with the class of 1946. On June 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to Don Keith Severin at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Lela was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Keystone American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son, Larry Severin of Faribault, Minn.; two daughters, Dr. Donna (Robert) Meyer of Mount Vernon, Mo., and Susan (Perry) Smith of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don, in 2002; daughter-in-law, Diana Severin; and two grandsons, Stacey Kusel and Kevin Severin, in infancy.
