Leita P. Manthei, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at The Meth-Wick Community/The Woodlands, Cedar Rapids.
A funeral service celebrating Leita's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Certified Celebrant Dr. Jim Coyle officiating. Entombment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra Kelly of Phoenix, Ariz.; son, David Manthei of Cedar Rapids; granddaughters, Courtnee Kelly of Portland, Ore., and Chelea Kelly of Fort Collins, Colo.; sister, Peg Harriman of Pennsylvania; brother, Daryl (Irene) Baughman of Washington, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Douglas Roberts; one sister; and four brothers.
Leita Pauline Baughman was born May 9, 1931, in South English, Iowa, the daughter of Curvin and Margaret (Seitsinger) Baughman. On Aug. 2, 1958, she married Gerald "Jerry" Manthei at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Leita was a day care provider for many years in her home. She was a lifelong member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and the Post Office Auxiliary.
Leita will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Memorial donations may be given in her name to UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospice.
