Leinbaugh, Edna M.
Edna M. Leinbaugh, 93, of Wheatland Manor, formerly of Lost Nation, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Wheatland Manor in Wheatland. A celebration of her life service will be held on Friday, May 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation. Friends may call Friday from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Tipton. Lahey Funeral & Cremation Services in Lost Nation is in charge of arrangements.
Edna Maydell Christian was born Oct. 8, 1917, in Cedar County, Iowa, to William and Fanny Isabelle (Chapman) Christian. She attended school in Cedar County. Edna was united in marriage to Gilbert Earl Leinbaugh on Feb. 8, 1937, in Tipton. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1995. Edna farmed with her husband in Toronto.
She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Lost Nation, and its church circle. She was also a member of the Hearthstone Club, Research Club in Toronto and the Care Board at Wheatland Manor. Edna loved to play cards, especially “Sheepshead,” and do crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Edna is survived by two daughters, Betty Jaeger and Beth (Mark) Fox, both of Lowden; four grandchildren, Melissa (Shawn) Stringer, Carrie (William Hobbs) Fox, Ian (Carey) Fox and Laura (Andrew) Werling; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and nine siblings.
Memorials may be given to Camp Courageous or Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation.
