Leigh, Margaret 'Peggy' C.
Margaret “Peggy” C. Leigh, 93, of Cottage Grove Place, passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 8 at Cottage Grove Place. All Peggy's friends are welcome.
Peggy was born in Everson, Wash., on Dec. 10, 1917, to Carl and Garnet Christensen. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1939, with a degree in French and Spanish. She married Theodore “Ted” Leigh in Arlington, Wash., on June 28, 1939. Ted's employment took them to Chicago, Seattle and then to Iowa in 1946. They happily remained in Cedar Rapids the rest of their years.
Peggy is survived by nephews and nieces, all living in California.
Peggy was a gifted seamstress and did lovely needlework. Many people shared in her talents as she was a giving and generous person all her life. Her inner beauty showed in her beautiful smile that was given to all. She touched many lives and will be missed.
