LeGrand, Allen Joseph

Allen Joseph LeGrand, 61, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. A private family burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.

Allen was born March 27, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Albert and Rita (Lange) LeGrand. He worked for many years as a local union iron worker. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and socializing with family and friends.

Allen is survived by his sons, Christopher LeGrand and Paul LeGrand; a daughter, Rita; a brother, Jerry (Rose) LeGrand of Cedar Rapids; sister, Jean Fagen of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Bev LeGrand of Cedar Rapids; his loving companion of over 18 years, Stephanie Mohr, and their family, Sarah (Dan) Kline and children, Sam, Josie and Evie.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, James and Charles LeGrand; and his parents.
