LeFlore, Genevieve 'Jenny' I.
Genevieve “Jenny” I. LeFlore, 89, formerly of Manchester, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, by the Rev. Lawrence Schmidt. Private inurnment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Lou LeFlore of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Warren Haynes of Hopkinton; a sister, Gelia B. “Judy” (Marland) Huls; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Harlan, Victor, Clifford and Merlin; and a sister, Alma Grimm.
Genevieve was born Aug. 4, 1920, the daughter of Lester and Elsie (Behning) Haynes in Delaware County. In April 1960, she married William Henry LeFlore. Genevieve retired in 1987 from Ertl Toy Co. in Dyersville, where she was a machine operator. She worked for the Coggon school system during the 1940s and 1950s and at Jeannette Brockmeyer's gift shop in Manchester. G. Gee enjoyed baking cookies and homemade bread.
Genevieve was a tissue donor and a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.
A memorial fund has been established in Genevieve's memory.
