Leffert, Brandon Paul
Brandon Paul Leffert, 26, of Central City, passed at home on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, of a courageous battle with brain cancer. A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Arrangements are by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Roxanne Leffert; stepfather, Greg Lane of Central City; grandparents, Jerry and Cheryl Nelson of Iowa City, Sharon Leffert of Lincoln, Neb. and Mary Lane of Cedar Rapids; great-grandmother, LaVerne Stephenson of Coralville; aunts and uncles, Kris (Bryce Ruroden) Nelson of Ely, Michelle (Matt) Fair of Durham, N.C., Anthony (Melinda) Leffert of Denver, Colo., Steve Leffert of Lincoln, Neb., Kathy (Ed) Dennis of Sioux Falls, S.D., Tim (Linda) Lane of Cedar Rapids, Lori Lane of New Hampton and Lisa Lane of Cedar Rapids; and many cousins and friends.
Brandon was born May 4, 1986, in Bakersfield, Calif., the son of Michael and Roxanne (Nelson) Leffert. He graduated from Marion High School in 2005, and then attended Kirkwood Community College. Most recently, he was proud to work for Heinz Quality Chef Foods in Cedar Rapids and was also working on his private pilot's license.
Brandon will be remembered as a very kind person who was thoughtful of others and was an inspiration to his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Leffert; grandmother, Marj Nelson; and grandfathers, Lynn Leffert and Bob Lane.
