Lee R. Burkle, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lee was born on July 12, 1936, to Irvin and Josephine (Westermeier) Burkle. He was united in marriage to Karen Laughridge on June 24, 2000. He was retired from and a member of the Laborers Local 43. He enjoyed reading, especially the newspaper, traveling, gardening, cooking, and watching Westerns.
Lee is survived by his wife, Karen; two sons, Kevin and Kent; special stepson, Scott (Dana) Novotny; three granddaughters; five grandsons; sister, Phyllis Gansmer; and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and four brothers.
