Lee Monson, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Stonebridge Church, Cedar Rapids, conducted by the Rev. Randy Scheil and the Rev. Robin Tyner. Family will greet friends from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery, Covington.
Survivors include her husband, Richard of Cedar Rapids; sons, Brian (Jamie) Cruise of Atkins and Bill (Lisa Patterson) Cruise and Jim (Julie) Cruise, both of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Brandon Monson; stepchildren, Karen Monson of Oelwein and John Monson, Scott Monson, Tim Monson and Ray Monson, all of Clear Lake; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Janet Cerney of Texas, Tom (Sally) Reilly of Shueyville and Jim (Sandy) Reilly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John Reilly, Robert Reilly and Ken Reilly.
Lee was born Oct. 17, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of William and Janet (Tyler) Reilly. She married Richard Monson on Oct. 2, 1993, at the Little Brown Church. Lee worked at Goss and DW Products. She loved taking care of her grandchildren, furniture restoration, ceramics, sewing, crafts, wedding designing, canning, preparing food, gardening, collecting dolls and her dogs.
