Lee J. Smith and Barbara N. Smith, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will be jointly remembered, celebrated and laid to rest on Friday, July 15, 2022.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids followed by a Memorial Mass beginning at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at the Veteran’s Field of Honor, Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.
Lee was born June 24, 1936, and entered his Heavenly Home on March 15, 2014. Barbara was born Feb. 8, 1937, and joined her husband in their Heavenly Home on May 1, 2022.
They were united in marriage on Nov. 29, 1958, at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
Lee served in the U.S. Air Force and was a proud member of Knights of Columbus Council 5544 in Cedar Rapids, becoming a 4th Degree Sir Knight. Barb was a very supportive wife who loved to cook, bake and garden. They both loved traveling, their fur-babies and helping with the St. Jude’s Sweet Corn Festival.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Nick) Poshusta of Cedar Rapids and Debra Linder of Greenwood, Ark.; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Mercy Hospital Hospice in Fort Smith, Ark., for the loving care given to both Lee and Barb during the last days of their lives.
