Ledvina, Anne
Anne Ledvina, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died at her home on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, after a long illness. A private family service was held. Iowa Cremation was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Mark of Cedar Rapids and Kurt of Hiawatha; two grandchildren, Cassandra and Alexander; and great-grandchild, Celayna.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Anne was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Borneo, Malaysia, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Carpenter. She married Richard Ledvina on Dec. 20, 1958, in Iowa City. Richard passed away in 1995. Anne worked at FMC, Midland Forge, and later as secretary at the University of Iowa for over 20 years, retiring in 2006.
She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. Anne was a very talented writer who wrote and published ‘Enemy Planes Above Us,” an account of her childhood in England during World War II. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and time spent with her beloved family.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
