Lebeda, Marjorie F. Chitty
Marjorie F. Chitty Lebeda, 91, of Tama, formerly of Chelsea, died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Sunny Hill Care Center on Tama. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chelsea with the Rev. Mike Mescher, celebrant, and Deacon Joe Behounek assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lenning of Venice, Fla.; son, Larry Dean (Maureen) Chitty of Hawaii; son-in-law, Michael Novotny of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Joyce Chitty of Red Wing, Minn.; 10n grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Marjorie was born May 8, 1921, in Chelsea, Iowa, to Fred and Mayme Musel Upah. She married Eugene Chitty but later divorced. She then married Charles Lebeda on Aug. 12, 1967. With Chuck, she was a homemaker and helped him in the family restaurant.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing cards. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chelsea and later St. Patrick's in Tama.
Preceding her in death were here parents; her husband; her sisters, Florence and Violet; a son, Terry Chitty; daughter, Patricia Novotny; granddaughter, Laura Goranson; and great-grandsons, Tyler and Connor Chitty.
Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine is handling the arrangements.
