LeAnn Rae Carstensen, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, in Marion, Iowa. LeAnn's visitation, funeral service, and interment will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories and Cemetery located at 4200 1st Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402, on December 19, 2025. Visitation 9:30 –11:00 am with service beginning at 11:00 am and the grave interment directly following the funeral service.
Born on May 29, 1938, in Soldier, Iowa, to Bennett Arthur and Edith Grace (Christensen) Longlee.,LeAnn's life was marked by her deep love for her family. She was married for 63 beautiful years to Robert “Bob” Eugene Carstensen on December 17, 1960, in Soldier, Iowa. Their love story was one of partnership and commitment and Bob's passing on July 28, 2024, left a profound void in LeAnn's heart. Together, LeAnn and Bob raised two sons. Later in life she was blessed with a granddaughter, Courtney, who brought her immense joy and laughter. Courtney was the light of LeAnn's life, and the two shared a bond that will forever be treasured.
LeAnn was known for her loving and caring nature, always putting her family first. She engaged in various community activities and enjoyed being a part of the Elmcrest Ladies Golf Association at the Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her active involvement in the P.E.O. International and at the local chapter #11, Where Women Motivate Women, enriched her life, and allowed her to form lifelong friendships, those bonds of friendships continued to grow during her retirement years at Wildcat Run golf community in Estero, Florida. LeAnn's hobbies reflected her love of life and connection to others. She cherished the moments spent with family, creating lasting memories that will resonate in their hearts forever. Her spirit was characterized by a gentleness and warmth that touched all she met.
She is survived by her two sons Al of Hiawatha, Iowa, Tim (Suzi) of Marion, Iowa, granddaughter Courtney, sister Ruby Hebb of Moorhead, Iowa, and brother James Longlee of Soldier, Iowa.
Preceding her in death were her parents Bennett Arthur and Edith Grace Longlee, and husband Robert “Bob” Eugene Carstensen.
Her love for family and friends will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, and her spirit will forever be a guiding light in their lives. Rest in peace, dear LeAnn. Your love will forever echo in the lives of your family, and your memory will be cherished.
