Leaf, Cecil E.
Cecil E. Leaf, 91, of Marion, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Crestview Acres. Services: 3 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Lloyd Eaken of Fairview Baptist Church, Anamosa. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held today from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, 1221 First Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; children, Elden (Susan) Leaf of Stuart, Fla., and Marla (Bill) Heeren and David Leaf, both of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Cecil was born July 31, 1919, in Zearing, to Ralph and Faith Leaf. He was an aircraft mechanic in the Army Air Corps during World War II and very proud of his service to his country. He married Betty Wells in Marion on March 20, 1946. Cecil was a welder at Iowa Manufacturing, retiring in 1982.
He loved gardening, farming, airplanes and his church activities. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
