L'DEAN OTTO JOHN KRAMBEER

L'Dean Otto John Krambeer, 90, of Guttenberg, Iowa, died Monday, March 13, 2017, at the Guttenberg Care Center. He was born on Oct. 11, 1926, on a farm in Luana, Iowa, the son of Harold and Leona Krambeer.
L'Dean graduated high school in Farmersburg in 1945, and entered World War II in January 1945. On his return home, L'Dean went to work for F.A. Moser. L'Dean married Betty Jean Piere on Sept. 29, 1950, in the Farmersburg Lutheran Church. They were blessed with six children. L'Dean was mayor of Farmersburg in 1976, and also served on the town council. He served on the fire department and was even the fire chief of Farmersburg during the '70s and '80s. L'Dean worked construction for many years, building bridges and culverts in Iowa, and even owned his own construction company. During his free time, L'Dean enjoyed his garden and building things. He built his cabin in Guttenberg with help from his sons and grandkids. He enjoyed his family and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
L'Dean is survived by his children, Murray (Monika) Krambeer of Omaha, Neb., Maureen (Ed) Yankuns of Guttenberg, Mickie (Donna) Krambeer of Monona and Matthew (Jeannie) Krambeer of Wadena; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchilden and one great-grandson to be born in June of 2017; brother, Harold (Deanna) Krambeer; sister, Betty Thomas; sister-in-law, Maxine Piere; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
L'Dean was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty, in 2006; two sons, Mitcheal in 2004 and Marty in 2016; granddaughter, Melissa, in 2014; brother, Ray; brother-in-law, Kenny Piere; and mother- and father-in-law.
Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, 207 S. First St, Guttenberg, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Guttenberg. Funeral service will be at St. John's Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Shane Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Clayton Center Cemetery,
