Lawrence, Stanley H.
Stanley H. Lawrence, 69, of Stanwood, died Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Mercy Iowa City. Masonic services: 7 p.m. Thursday at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence. Inurnment at a later date in Stanwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1941, in Iowa City, to Prentis and Eunice Preston Lawrence. He married Carolyn Jean Simmons on June 3, 1967, at Corning, Iowa.
Stan had worked as a drywall taper. He was a member of Stanwood Union Church and Freemont Masonic Lodge #616 of Stanwood.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Jean; daughters, Marsha Schorg of Blairstown, and Shawna Husmann of Anamosa; son, Timothy Simmons of Marion; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Boyd of Lebonon, Ore., and Mary Lawrence Jones of Stansberry, Mo.; and a brother, Robert of Steilacoom of Washington.
He was preceded in death by three brother and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
