Lawrence, Rosemary Louise (Panosh)
Rosemary Louise (Panosh) Lawrence, 78, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, in Liberty, Mo., after a 15 month courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Donald Bruggeman. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home with a vigil at 7 p.m. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (Greg) McAlexander of Liberty, Mo., Steve (Wanda) Lawrence of Marion and Teri (Brian) Wolfgang of Independence, Mo; sister, Ruth (Jerry) Koepp of Iowa City; brothers, Robert (Anita) Panosh, Richard (Maryann) Panosh of Cedar Rapids and Raymond (Mary) Panosh of Delhi; brother-in-law, Richard Lawrence; sister-in-law, Dolores Maggard, Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Stacy (Kent) Dryer and Andrea (Trent) Schnakenberg, Robert Garrett and Adeline Wolfgang; stepgrandchildren, Nicole (Nicholas) Zabriskie and Travis and Matthew (Kneisha) Wolfgang; great-grandchildren, Enslie, Kade and Layne Dryer and Taytum and Kobie Schnakenberg; stepgreat-grandchildren, Payton, Adrianna, Makayla, Ryan and Zoe; plus many nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was born in Little Turkey, Iowa, on June 14, 1935, to George and Louise Panosh. She was united in marriage to Francis Lawrence on July 22, 1957 at St. Wenceslaus Church. She worked for AT & T for 33 years and then Duane Arnold for six years. She had a strong catholic faith and was a member of St. Jude's Parish for 52 years. Rosemary was the secretary/treasurer of the senior bowling league at May City Lanes for many years. She also was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Grateful Grannies. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her friends.
Rosemary was always the happiest when spending time with her late husband, Frank and her family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Rosemary will be greatly missed by her family and many friends that she had gathered throughout her life.
We would like to thank Dr. Jasmine Nabi and staff at Hall Perrine Cancer Center for Rosemary's care for the past year.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank in 2004; and sister, Rita.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
