LAWRENCE "LARY" KLOSTERMAN
Edgewood
Lawrence "Lary" Bernard Klosterman, 72, of Edgewood, passed away as a result of liver cancer on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, surrounded by his family at his home at Scenic Acres Care Center, Elkader.
He was born July 4, 1944, in Edgewood, the son of George and Luetta (Schmitt) Klosterman. Lary was raised in Edgewood and attended Edgewood High School. He then served honorably in the U.S. Army.
Lary worked at John Deere until his retirement. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. Lary liked going to stock car races. He also liked motorcycles and playing cards. Lary loved attending holiday gatherings with his family and going for drives to enjoy the countryside scenery.
Survivors include his three siblings, Eileen (Dale) Sargent of Mount Vernon, Ruth (Mike) Bergan of Elkader and Gary (Ruth) Klosterman of Edgewood; one brother-in-law, Jim Lammers of Manchester; several nieces and nephews; as well as all of his friends and the staff at Scenic Acres.
Lary was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janice Lammers.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Edgewood. Celebrant is the Rev. John Haugen. Visitation: 9 a.m. until time of the service on Wednesday at St. Mark Catholic Church, Edgewood. Interment: 2 p.m. at Dubuque Memorial Gardens, Dubuque.
