LAWRENCE J. "LARRY" TORGLER

Winterhaven, Fla.

Lawrence J. "Larry" Torgler, 86, of Winterhaven, Fla., formerly of Salem, Ill., and Dubuque, Iowa, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, with his wife and daughter by his side. Service will be at 9 a.m. Dec. 16, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Winterhaven, Fla. A second memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 27, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Salem, Ill. Columbarium at St Mathew's Catholic Church.

Larry graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1952. He married Patricia J. Nauman in 1957 in Dubuque, Iowa. They later divorced. He married Alice S. Stevenson in 1989, in Salem, Ill. His professional career started with 16 years at John Deere, then 13 years at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa, and 13 years at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Ill.

He is survived by wife, Alice Torgler; children, Tim Torgler (Ann), Montrose, Iowa, Traci Osterhaus (Bruce), Guyton, Ga., and Kristin Young (Glen), Ogema, Wis.; stepchildren, Scott Stevenson (Tina), Centralia, Ill., Lisa Slater, Odin, Ill., and Sherry Hanna (Vaughn), Peoria, Ill.; brothers, Ron Torgler (Dale Anne), Colorado Springs, Colo., and George Torgler (Linda), East Dubuque, Ill.; grandchildren, Hannah Torgler, Emma Torgler, Glen Slater, Graysen Stevenson and Jaryn Stevenson; four great-grandchildren, and one on the way; very special friends, Lynn and Sue Rose; and his best friend (cousin), Bob and Freda Cerney.

He was preceded in death by parents, Delphine M. and Russell R. Torgler; sister, Nancy Ertl; and brother-in-law, Fred Ertl.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1991 Overlook Dr., Winterhaven, FL in memory of Larry Torgler.
